Creativity and the Second Chakra

Dear Marnia,

greeting card, by LaraIt is known that the second chakra pertains to both sexuality and creativity. I believe we have a choice: to live a life full of brilliant, creative expression or to waste our creative expression on the expenditure of sexual energy through orgasm creating an unhealthy neurochemical addiction to dopamine [highs].

Being in our power, means being in our own unique creative expression. We are living in a society that supports sexuality more than it does creative expression.

Many people believe that they can have orgasms and still be very creative. But, I believe, they are limiting their grand potential to create even more profoundly.

When athletes refrain from orgasm before sport events, they do so to increase their energy so they can express their sport better. They choose to focus that second chakra energy toward their expression in life. Can we not be our own athletes and hold our orgasms before we perform our chosen exercise, be it swimming or dancing or baseball etc.? We don’t have to be professionals in order to call ourselves athletes. We can be our own athletes and give ourselves our own support for our talents. When we respect our abilities and focus our energy toward our creative endeavors, then we can refrain from orgasm and give to our creative expression all the energy that we have to give.

Our creativity is immense – that is, only if we use our second chakra energy to create. If we release that energy in orgasm, we diminish our chance to create a new world for ourselves and others.

When I look at many older couples, they seem drained. They seem bored with life. Their creative expression is almost gone and they lack enthusiasm. Perhaps they look to children for their creative expression since young children have not lost that creative spark to orgasms and are not dopamine addicts. These people most likely have spent most of their second chakra energy on orgasms over many years. If they would have retained their orgasmic energy and focused it instead on their creativity, then they might have created amazing lives, amazing art, amazing inventions. They might have built incredible structures with fabulous architecture, planted beautiful gardens, prepared delicious foods, created organic farms, and perhaps even the creation of plans for World Peace. Instead, they threw their creativity to the wind with orgasms and became addicts.

Anger is often a result of energy gone to orgasm instead of the power of unique creative expression. Without this expression of creativity, people feel powerless and that leads to anger, depression, mental illness, etc. People who have rage are usually blocked creative people who chose to release their energy to orgasm instead of focusing it on creativity.

If we are up to the challenge of letting go of our neuro-chemical addiction to dopamine by refraining from orgasm, perhaps we would have the opportunity to find out who we really are, what this creative energy inside of us wishes to create and how we can put it to good use to co-create a better, more peaceful, more beautiful world.

Blessings,
