Yin and Yang---the Cosmic Fractal

I would like to write this post in the style of a lecture form the 1920's. I don't know why, but that style feels comfortable to me. Probably because I've read so many old books, or maybe it's because I'm a Mason and have memorized so many ancient texts. Imagine yourself sitting in a theater chair, looking down on an old and worn stage. A lecturer has come to town, a nobody. His topic seemed vaguely interesting and you had nothing better to do this evening. The lecturer walks out on stage. He says the following---

The Yin and Yang Principle

I would like you to understand that everything in this world of ours is either yin or yang, male or female, light or darkness, health or sickness, pleasure or pain. And each of these things is again subdivided into yin and yang, and so forth into infinite inner space. Like wise, all things are grouped into larger and larger yin and yang groups, expanding forever into infinite outer space. This arrangement is much like the fractal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractal

Put another way, if you look at a yang thing, you will notice that part of it is actually yin, and those parts, in turn, are further divided into smaller yin and yang components.

Male and Female

The human is an example of this principle. For simplicity's sake, let's say that the man is yang and the woman is yin. Many of you here have learned about, or experienced, this concept of a man and a woman hugging, perhaps in an intimate way, front to front, in order to exchange energies and reach a state of equilibrium. As a result of this Sacred Embrace, each human becomes energized with enough of the other's energy so as to become balanced. Note that at least a half hour is needed for this to occur, generally speaking.

Now, let's separate the couple and examine them one at a time. According to the Yin and Yang Principle, the man, though he is yang, has a yin part, and the female, likewise, has a yang part. They are a part of this cosmic fractal pattern. Since this is true, it stands to reason that each should be able to balance their yin and yang energies within, without the aid of the other part---the man without the woman, and visa versa. This is not to say that the Sacred Embrace is not needed or desired, but that a state of equilibrium can be reached by working with the energies on this smaller scale as well.

There are actually many ways for a single person to connect their yin and yang parts to find balance. I will teach you one here. I chose this method to endorse because it requires no special skills, just a desire. The method is this, and is based on an old Taoist tradition---

Pubic Hair and Heart Connection

You simply lay on your back. Get comfortable. Use a pillow. Don't cross your legs, even at the angles. Straighten you spine and relax. Next, place your left palm on your pubic hairs and your right palm on your heart center, about level with the nipples. Palms resting on bare skin is more effective, but the energy will also pass through clothing. The Taoist have a teaching about Hair Breathing. They teach that energy is passing through the hairs. As you rest your left palm on your pubic hairs perhaps you will sense this energy passing through the hairs. The left palm is receiving and the right palm is giving, from an energy perspective. So, as you lay there, with no thought about what is supposed to be happening, the sex energy will move to the heart center. You could say that the sex organs are yang and the heart is yin, but be careful not to generalize too firmly, remember the yin-yang fractal nature of everything.

After about ten minutes, you may start to feel a distinct energy movement in your body. After a half hour of laying like this, you will feel balanced and wish to get up. You will feel energized, peaceful, more patient, ready to take up you tasks once again with a calm assurance. You must recognize these symptoms as the same a couple feels after the Sacred Embrace. That is because in each case, an equilibrium of male and female energies has been reached. The balancing of inner yin and yang.

Practice Uses

This knowledge will be useful to the man or woman who is without the means to receive a Sacred Embrace. Or, let's say your partner is away and you come against a circumstance that throws you off balance. For the addict, let's use a porn addict as the example---if he is able to use his sense of good judgment to lay down and rest in the way I prescribed here instead of giving in to his urge, he will get up from his rest without the least desire for his addiction. That is because his body energy system will be in harmony and will not find anything out of harmony attractive to it. That is, until another state of disharmony is reached at another time.

There is no limit to what can be effected in this way. Are you chronically cranky? That is a negative energy state and you cannot remain that way if you are in harmony energetically.

Though this lecture was short, it has covered all that is needed for you to get what I am trying to say. Now, I must leave because I have a number of other lectures to give over the next few days in the surrounding towns, but I will return in a week's time. If you can be here then, we can have an open discussion about your observations of this idea.

Thank you.

I'll let you know...

....how it works.
Thank you, Professor Sam Eye-wink

I'm no Professor . . .

but I love drama.

Here is another Taoist tidbit that seems to fit the topic of this website. It was designed to help a person control their urge for sex. And it works, I've tested it. But it is a bit hard to get the hang of. I look at these breaths as adventures with my body.

A rare Taoist Breath Work---the perineum-solar plexus-belly breath

Quote:
Old people who are weak should avail themselves of the arousal of vitality to act immediately even before turning away their perverse thoughts. They should concentrate on the mortal gate (at the root of the penis) and breathe in to lift the vital force there up to the lower tan t'ien cavity which is 1-3 inches under the navel, pause a little before concentrating on the chiang kung centre (or the solar plexus) and then breathe out to lower the vital force there to the cavity of vitality (under the navel). From there positive vitality will spread to all parts of the body, killing all sexual desires. This exercise is to be repeated until the genital organ shrinks. If they so train how can there be desire for sexual intercourse?---from "Taoist Yoga" by Charles Luk

If there is anyone here who has the patience to learn this skill, all you need to do is ask and I will gladly explain this passage further so that it is all plain. And when you master this skill, you will swear that it is easy to do, and that it does indeed kill all sexual desires, the reason being that "from there (the lower tan t'ien) positive vitality will spread to all parts of the body." Which means that, through the use of this breath, your male and female energies will have reached a state of equilibrium, just like in Sacred Sex.

On my drive to California this past week for a family Reunion, I was' fasting', it being 8:00 PM and too late to eat. But, my family was eating---smells of pickles, cheese, and crackers were tempting me. Then I did this perineum-solar plexus-belly breath a couple of times and I was happily fasting again. So," I thought, "using this breath to restore the male-female energy balance in my temple-body helps us keep a level head in the face of our passions---like eating." I had never used it in this way before. As I thought about it, I realized that this breath should work in a variety of other situations as well. And it should be useful to the addict who wants to quit. It was designed by the Taoist to control the addiction of 'reproductive sex'.

About Karezza

I've been doing Taoist-style sex for a long time. I ran into a description of Karezza a little while ago. Karezza or Sacred Sex seemed to be similar to Taoist sex practices but it soon became apparent that there were some major differences between the two methods. To understand this better, I decided to set aside all my Taoist stuff when in bed for a while so I could learn more about Karezza.

The first thing I noticed was that Karezza got the same results as my old Taoist Sex practices. But, Karezza required no special skills---no breath or energy work, nothing. I could see that anyone could do Karezza. "So why learn the Taoist methods if Karezza got the same results?" I wondered. Also, I soon started to sense another feeling that I didn't recognize---a deep satisfying feeling. I guess it was the oxytocin, the cuddle hormone. It feels like peace and love all mixed up together. That sensation of being totally in love with life is worth going back for more. And, from now on, I will recommend Karezza over Taoist-style sex practices.

The Microcosmic Orbit

The Taoist say that sexual arousal is caused by energy accumulating in the groin, and when enough energy gathers there, as the tension builds in the body, the person experiences the climax typical of reproductive sex. The Taoist sex practices draw this sex energy out of the groin before it reaches the point of climax. Typically, it is drawn up the spine and into the Microcosmic orbit, then from there into the whole body.

Most everyone's energy meridians are blocked in places which is part of the aging process. For health, it is good to unblock these channels to allow a free flow of energy throughout the body. Taoist do their particular type of sex for health, to keep these energy channels open. I am sensitive to energy movement in my body. As I was enjoying Karezza, I would pay attention to what my energy was doing and I observed that it was moving up my spine into the orbit without my telling it to do that. Karezza was moving the energy out of the groin on autopilot. This is why the two practiced are getting similar results. It is good to open the orbit. I feel that if someone does Karezza instead of reproductive sex, that over a period of time, this practice will unblock their energy meridians and wake up their orbit---all in a natural way, without the person knowing a thing about Taoist sex practices. That is amazing. Of course, using the Taoist methods may speed up the process. I really don't know for sure.

Can anyone here shed light on this experiment of mine? Is there anyone here who messes around with the Taoist stuff who also uses Karezza or Sacred Sex?

Welcome back

Your posts are so interesting, Sam. My Taoist phase was fairly short, although Lao Tzu's "Hua Hu Ching" remains a BIG influence in my life.

I felt, too, like the modern Taoist stuff was so performance oriented that it detracted from the rewards of bonding. But I admit that I was also heavily influenced by ACIM, which repeatedly says "You need do nothing" (but unite in stillness).

All this makes your post VERY interesting to me. Thanks so much.
