Day 41... or is it Day 1?
Yesterday morning I had a dream orgasm. (Don't remember the dream, unfortunately.) I clamped down with the pelvic muscles and stopped most or even all of the ejaculate, but it was a moderately strong orgasm in terms of the pleasure sensation (it's rare for me in to have much pleasure sensation in wet dreams).
I monitored how I felt yesterday, and I estimate physically I felt maybe 10% drained (100% being how I feel on average after a full ejaculation). Emotionally, I felt some hang over too, but it was pretty slight. Hard to tell without interaction with others, but I might've been less social, more moody, etc. Of course, that could just be from feeling physically drained too, but I'm apt to think they are indeed separate.
Off and on throughout the past days of celibacy, I'd still get an orgasmic, full sensation in my genitals (no erection, no thoughts, just the physical sensation). During the withdrawal period, this feeling would be accompanied by strong cravings for orgasm, but after the withdrawal period, the cravings were slight and easily ignored. Today and yesterday, that was gone or at least greatly reduced. I hope I don't have to go through the withdrawal phase again! I don't think I will, though, because I still feel much the same as before, oxytocin state rather than dopamine cycle in terms of emotional sensitivity, lust vs. love, abundance vs. scarcity, etc. It's just slightly reduced but not back to dopamine cycle. Still, I'm slightly bummed. I'd hoped wet dreams were a thing of the past.
My plan is that if the full sensation returns, I will take special care not to do things known to cause wet dreams (according to this Yoga manuscript I downloaded from ashram.org), namely eating too much late at night, warm milk at night, and full bladder or bowel. It also said: "Soon after micturition or defecation a fine stream of cold water should be poured on the sexual organ. It
tones and soothes the nerves of the genito-urinary system and stops nocturnal discharges. It also weakens
the sexual desire." Might try this too.
Then it said: "Padapaschimottanasana, Sarvangasana and Mayurasana are very
useful for maintaining Brahmacharya. Among these, Padapaschimottanasana is the most useful. This is the
personal experience of many Sadhaka who come to the Ashram."
Padapaschimottanasana seems pretty much just the sitting forward bend. Here's what the text had to say about it:
Technique: Spread a blanket on the floor and sit over it with legs extended in front. Hold both toes with the
index fingers and flex the spine. Touch the forehead to your knees by bending forward from the waist. The
knees should remain flat on the ground. In the beginning if the knees tend to bend, it does not matter. Only
by repeated practice, this asana is perfected. Avoid too much exertion when you do this asana.
Benefits: Practice of this asana purifies nerves, prevents and cures many diseases. Many abdominal
disorders like indigestion, constipation, common colds, acute coryza, productive cough, backache, hiccup,
leucoderma, urinary diseases, wet dreams, seminal disorders, Appendicitis, scitica, jaundice, insomnia,
asthma, hyperacidity, nervous debility, uterine disorders, menstrual disorders, impotency, (sterility), blood
disorders, stunted growth and many other diseases can be cured by this asana.
In the beginning of the practice, do this asana for 30 seconds and then gradually and slowly increase the
period up to 15 minutes. Difficulty will be experienced in the initial few days. The asana will become easy
with practice. This asana improves the built of the body. It reduces excess of fats (if any), and makes a weak
body strong and well built. For those who practice Brahmacharya, this asana is a special boon.
Sarvangasana is the shoulder stand, and Mayurasana is the peacock (http://www.holisticonline.com/yoga/hol_yoga_pos_mayra.htm). Shoulder stand, because of the crunching on the neck needs to be balanced by the fish asana (http://www.yoga-age.com/modern/asanas.html).
I'll probably start doing these asanas too, since they're good for way more than just wet dreams. I'd gotten lazy about doing the microcosmic orbit, so that might be part of it too. Plus, I probably got lazy about doing oxytocin activities. Finally, dopamine, lustful thoughts came back sometimes. My theory is that all this led to the sexual energy flowing down again to the point of causing a wet dream. I still don't think it's right, though, to suppress lust. Rather through correct practices, it will fall away on its own, while suppression will just lead to it being bottled up and festering.
Well, it's going to be a fun adventure seeing if I can prevent another wet dream!

Last two days...
I woke up with damp spots in the pants I sleep in. There was also pre-ejaculate ur, down there. It's what set me off yesterday and I pretty much spent the whole day in fantasy land, if you know what I mean. Mind you, all week has been pretty bad, so I am not on a good track like you are.
When I saw the pre-ejaculate, it just set off a lot of discomfort. The thing that troubles me most is, I just don't know what is causing it. I can recall my dreams fairly well and oddly enough, I can't recall anything overtly sexual or pornography in my dreams.
All the non-sexual and sexual problems related to all of this, usually take place in my conscious and subconscious thoughts.
I don't think I ever experienced full ejaculation during sleep.
Dreams
I think it just happens. Even to Marnia and Gary. Redbeard, me, and now you. Supposedly, though, if you do the right kind of spiritual training, it gets redirected and wet dreams no longer occur. Did you see my post on that? Also, if your system is weak, which it probably is from too much masturbation, it happens cuz of that. (Mine is weak from that but also the CFS.) Finally, you're probably still in the dopamine cycle, right? So then all your energy is still pushing downwards. No worries. It'll probably still happen for awhile for everyone... except maybe the monks living in monasteries. ;-)
Yes, it happened to me also
Yes, it happened to me also two nights ago . . . I'd say dream orgasms have increased since masturbation and orgasmic sex in waking life have gone down. I rarely had dream orgasms them when going for them consistently in waking life.
Dreams
Me neither. Was only when I held off for awhile, which leads to the sense that something builds up and has to be periodically released... but apparently that's not true, maybe... somehow... Or maybe it IS true, but doesn't have to be, like in the case of people who're redirecting their sexual energy somewhere. Lots of stuff to learn...
astronomic reasons?
I am really asking myself if there were some influences that made some of you give in on the very same day.
And me
I had also a dream orgasm this night to. Unfortunatly i remeber it very clear.... Astronomic reasons or not....

Astronomic
When I was hanging around with my Zen teacher fairly often, he was constantly noticing how everyone would experience up's and down's together. I still don't pay too much attention to it, but at the same time, after this experience and ones like it, I now think there are indeed unseen influences around that affect large groups of people all at once without directly perceiveable cause and effect chains. Maybe it's Hotspring's "entrainment" phenomenon happening through the connection of this website. LOL. Or astrology. Or sun spots. Or... coincidence. ;-)

Or Sheldrake's morphic fields .. . .
or alien abductions in your area...
...because I was unaffected! I live on the other side of the world, they did not swirl around here.
