Day 1 - Yes, Another One

JaylBreak's picture

It seems I always post on day 1's on the blog. Yes, it's another start for me. I actually had a really good week. I was well behaved, under control and got a lot accomplished (at work and mental work on myself). I even stuck to my no more than 3 drinks rule. I think it was a combination of being tired and depressed that put me over the edge. A Friday night all alone. Sad

Anyway, I feel like a big run coming. Who knows... I could be wrong but I'll keep on trying! I will get the better of this!!

Thanks!

Yep, I'm definitely getting healthier in my lifestyle. Started working out again, eating healthier and I just refreshed my profile on an online dating site. Just got to keep working at it...

persistence is progress

Persistence is progress. Keep at it. Eventually, your brain will learn, it just takes a while. These old habits and the old mental/emotional habits that surround them have been around since you were a kid. Hang in there. Persistence is a powerful tool in recovery because we are going to "relapse" from time to time. The trick is seeing the relapse event for what it is and not getting caught in the self-defeating thinking that comes with it. Keep developing the tools you gain while you are not acting out, and when you do, I think you pull yourself away a lot better.
