energy: an interesting challenge
On day 10 and feeling like smiling! However, I think my body is telling me to slow down a little. Thursday I did a leg workout, which is much, much better when you have this resevior of power. I was able to lift more weight than ever. It left me justifiably physically tired. The problem is I still had this undercurrent of energy! Weird. Even after meditating, I slept a bit restelessly and went to work the next morning, ran some errands, and went into a bookstore. It hit me there, my eyes starting gazing over, even the coffee only helped a little. When I finally got home, I CRASHED! I couldn't even read a paragraph in a magazine.
I imagine this is a good thing, but I was starting to get a mild headache from all my running around. It's like there are two sources of energy I have? I'm not medically adept at the terminology but the abstaining seems to be providing this eternal battery pack to my "regular" physical enrergy? Anyway, it's valuable feedback, just going to have to be careful to rest (if I can) and come to think of it, have enough good food. That maybe was the culprit, yeah, not enough rest and food. Still, not a bad problem to have I guess. Any of you felt this "dual power" thing?

Hmmm...
My thought is that as the brain recalibrates such swings are just normal. For example, many folks seem to find that they have to change their diet right along with this transition. The good news is that things seem to settle down to a lively, yet comfortable balance after a time...although that may not be so easy to achieve completely while on your own.
Yeah I go from what I call
Yeah I go from what I call enough energy to be bouncing off the walls to a crash. I have a lot more energy at work and I seem to be handling and dealing with work much better. I am also making large improvements in some of my workouts. I do hit that crash mode though.
I also believe what Marnia said about diet. I do not think I would be as far along or doing so well without all my diet and exercise changes. Those for me have been the most help. What I mean by diet. My body and mind are getting as good of food as I can supply it at the moment. It is hard to stay away from the wrong foods and stuff. I am doing very well though. I may be consuming too much sugars but not sure how to cut that out. 95% of my sugars come from fruits and vegetables not refined sugars but lots from the smoothies I drink(those are bottled smoothies). I do not feel bad when consuming this type of sugar though. I can drink just a smoothie for lunch and be fine. If I were to drink coffee with caffeine and no food I would feel the effects. That really messes me up.
I am feeling much better now with the new eating habits. Exercise is starting to really help. Everything seems to be improving physically and mentally for me at the moment. I still have trouble doing any type of meditation. I try and then just forget to do it. I am not sure why I can not continue a meditation schedule of any kind.
