Hey guys. That day is approaching and I'm really excited. But this is going to be more than just a stop PMO. This is going to be a full out change in my life if I can just keep on track. I recommend you all make similar changes in your life, as well. Although the whole "SMART" goal bullshit recommends only having one goal at a time, I don't believe in that. I feel with routine, I should be able to make beneficial changes to my life. I am writing this section in 2 parts.

Once again, the brain science presented in CPA has provided me with tremendous support and allowed me to be more understanding and supportive. My friend has just lost a loved one and is in deep grief, and this after going through months of work related stress.

It's claimed in various places online that from consuming blackstrap molasses people experience a reduction in anxiety, insomnia, "foggy brain," and fatigue symptoms; help with anemia, PMS, menstrual problems, menstrual cramping, menstrual mood swings, hot flashes, cravings for sweets, and other health issues related to the menstrual cycle; reduction in the size of their fibroid tumors; graying of hair reversing color; relief from arthritis and carpel tunnel; and relief from various digestive problems like acid reflux, constipation, and diarrhea.

Day 42 - wow this week has been a tough one. My boss was fired at work and though I never thought I would think of that as stressful, boy it was.
No doubt the stress is a major trigger and I've been struggling since I woke up early. Did not sleep good.
Going to meditate now which seems to be the best help for me.

Dreaming takes the sting out of painful memories
November 23rd, 2011 in Research
They say time heals all wounds, and new research from the University of California, Berkeley, indicates that time spent in dream sleep can help.
UC Berkeley researchers have found that during the dream phase of sleep, also known as REM sleep, our stress chemistry shuts down and the brain processes emotional experiences and takes the painful edge off difficult memories.

REWARD CIRCUITRY: http://thebrain.mcgill.ca/flash/i/i_03/i_03_cr/i_03_cr_que/i_03_cr_que.html
COMMENTS: The prefrontal cortex is our executive control center, or seat of willpower. When you have a serious addiction this region is less active. The striatum & Insula are part of the reward circuitry (the nucleus accumbens in the picture). This study says that when your blood sugar drops your reward circuit screams eat, while your prefrontal cortex is in no shape to prevent you from eating.

Hello all. I am entering the 19th day of no PMO. As I continue in the flatlining stage, I feel very anxious and worried. Perhaps that is why I have not slept tonight.

The old model of genetics said the only way a parent's behavior could affect the genetics of the offspring is to expose the egg or sperm to mutagens - chemicals that cause mutations to the DNA. The model was clear - what you experience in your life had no effect on your offspring. The model eventually was altered to say that what a mother experiences during gestation could affect the offspring. Scientist are now finding that stressors or drug abuse experienced by either parent prior to conception, can affect the genes for more than one generation.

(Medical Xpress) -- Fulltime workers who used a traditional 'silent' form of meditation became much less stressed and depressed compared to more conventional approaches to relaxation or even placebo, according to a paper published today in the online journal Evidence Based Complementary Medicine, a leading publication in its field.
