A few years ago, I ran across a 'revolutionary diet' called the "Shangri-la Diet", and decided to try it - with absolutely no effort beyond *swallowing 2 tablespoons of coconut oil early each morning*, I lost 27 lbs in three months. The weight did not come back. I lost all food cravings, and could easily just stop eating the minute I was full. I didn't exercise.

Cola and unhealthy lifestyle lower sperm count
(PhysOrg.com) -- A Danish study suggests drinking a lot of cola regularly could men’s lower sperm count by almost 30 percent.
The culprit does not appear to be caffeine, since coffee did not have the same effect, even though it contains even more caffeine than cola.

I will say that I have been eating an oz or so of dark chocolate just before my Toastmasters meetings. I am not going to claim that it is the chocolate that has helped me get going with speeches but I need all the help I can get

How junk food diet 'can give you depression'
By Jenny Hope

Eating junk food can make you depressed, doctors have warned.
Those who regularly eat high-fat foods, processed meals, desserts and sweets are almost 60 per cent more likely to suffer depression than those who choose fruit, vegetables and fish.
Researchers claim their study is the first to investigate the link between overall diet and mental health, rather than the effects of individual foods.

-EXERCISE: this can't be overemphasized. Regular (and fairly intense) cardio and weightlifting help a great deal.
-DIET: Follow a diet that is sattvic (as described by the Indian religions of Sikhism/Hinduism/Buddhism). Fruits and veggies, whole grains, and dairy are considered sattvic foods. Not eating too much and avoiding too much spices and stimulants all help when combined with regular physical activity.

Hi All:
CuriousFellow has suggested - and Amari explained - that, for some technical reasons, it is advisable to start a new thread. I have given it the title "Diet and libido. Part 2", so to preserve a degree of continuity. Effectively immidiately, therefore, we will continue our conversation here. The original thread "Diet and libido" is to be considered closed. Thanks for Your attention and, particularly, for Your valuable contributions.

I am a raw vegan. It is part of my spiritual path. I have chosen to create a squeaky clean body through the use of a pure diet and thought life. I have chosen, at least for a time, to allow my hair to remain uncut. I practice yoga. I sold my bed and sleep on a mat breathing outside air throughout the night. I am letting go of my possessions. I gaze at the sun while it is setting or rising. I wear clothing that is made of only a single natural material. I meditate and am exploring the depths of my soul with faith that I will find all that is precious and valuable right here inside of myself.

A Member of this Forum wrote me privately the following. Hoping that other Members may find my elaborations of some interest, i am answering Him publicly while keeping His identity anonimous.
"Can you expound upon how you silenced your libido through diet? I am very interested in silencing mine as well"
"Been working on it for several years. Avoiding visual stimulus whenever possible, celibacy, stopped masturbation, keeping busy, but still, out of nowhere it pops back up. Always a constant battle. It is so pleasant when it just goes away....Ahh...."

I posted this on another site where people were having trouble with depression. Reading other peoples' posts, I figured I should tell it here too. It's the result of seven years of self-tinkering. Marnia, feel free to critique, constructive criticism is very welcome.

How I Cured My Depression, etc.
The backstory is that my psychological state crashed after high school, I ended up holed in my room trying to put myself back together again. I eventually did, someone in another thread asked me to explain, here goes:
