Hangover = a week of vacation?

Here is an interesting thought that I read somewhere. Alas, I can't recall the source.

If we accept that our behavior with our wives or sweethearts deteriorates immediately after an orgasm and that this "hangover" lasts at least a week, let's examine how many orgasms we might be advised to have in a year's time.

Suppose the hangover is like taking a week's vacation away from your wife or sweetheart. After all, she is not getting your best during this hangover period.

Hard Time wrapping my brain around all this

Hi There I am a 40 year young woman, I came to find this site via the book The Brain that Changes itself" . I told myself I would not come here today due to either extreme pms or just watching the 40 minute audio clip sent me near an anxiety attack yesterday. I imagine it was the two. I have always been an very insecure person and very self critical, I often say, I am insecure in all areas of my live, except for one, my sexuality. I love to please my partner, whether I want to or not I will, I am unafraid to talk about things most people will not.

What if we do not engage each other daily?

Hi, Marina and everyone.

I stumbled onto this extraordinary site a couple days ago when I googled for information on Oxytocin . . . and am so glad of the blessed discovery (of this web site!)

I had devoted the whole of this past year, 2009, to focus on the personal relationship aspect of my life . . . to seek out a suitable prospect and create a possible life-long relationship with him . . . the year was ended with success Smiling It was an eventful (at times painful) odyssey, yet I finally found my prince (and my prince found me . . . love must be mutual, right?)

Foods that can cause dopamine swings?

Just wondering if there are known foods which may cause a rise or fall in dopamine levels that should be avoided? I have heard possibly too much salt, sucrose, caffeine, etc. Not sure which ones would make it rise and then fall quickly which could start cravings, but it would be good to know so as to avoid them if possible.

Spiritual "orgasms" during meditation

Recently, I've had a very bizarre experience during meditation that I wanted to share. It all started with a pleasurable sensation in the groin that eventually took over my entire body but clearly emanating from my groin. This went on for a solid 1/2 hour, total pleasure, no ejaculation, no hard on, nothing but pleasurable sensations.

Those first two weeks...

So my partner and I are new to this whole thing. We regularly have had sex every day to every other day for a few years and we've been trying this for a month, but it's been incredibly difficult. We tend to give in or have unintentional orgasms in sleep after a week, so we've never been off the dopamine cycle and we've been at this for a month an a half. We're getting discouraged. Cuddling is part of our normal routine - we set time aside for it, always have, so that's been a major bonding behavior.

First time sex with new partner

I'm looking for some pointers for having sex the first time with a new partner.

I found that with some partners it clicked right away, but more often it has to grow. And I was always wondering if we should talk about sex before we do it, or just do it. What do you think? And what is a good time for first sex (first date, 10th date)?

valley orgasm

The term 'valley orgasm' is mentioned several times on this site, but I can't find out what it is. I only get that it is sexual energy going up the spine instead of flowing outward in a conventional orgasm. Can someone help me out here?

Some questions I have:
- is it the same for men and women?
- does it have the same effect on your dopamine as conventional orgasms?
- and of course: How can you get such an orgasm? Smiling

Dealing with porn addiction/masturbation

I've been addicted to porn for over 20 years and masturbating at least 2 times a day (i'm 36). So everytime I get into a relationship with a nice girl I meet, the porn and the masturbating comes to a grinding halt and subsequently all kinds of sexual problems arise (anxiety, erection problems, fear etc.). Over a month ago I met a wonderful woman and we hit the ground running. Unfortunately she moved away for six months and we've been dealing with the long distance thing ever since. It's worked out well and she has been very supportive of my issues.
