Why Some People Resist Relationship Infidelity Better Than Others

by Scott Barry Kaufman

You're an attractive person in a loving, committed, happy relationship. Still, there is temptation at every turn. At the grocery store, the cute person at the checkout line smiles at you with a raised eyebrow. You strike up a flirtatious conversation, and this person asks for your number. What do you do? Why don't you cheat? What's stopping you?

First Blog struggle with pleasures, feeling love, and infidelity

I keep attempting to begin my blog, I start and never seem to make much sense, usually it is through writing that I find understanding and clarity. This topic though is still bouncing around in my brain. I am a married 40ish American German and Swedish woman living on the West coast.

A resurgence of jealousy

I have nearly passed through the eleventh day of my second attempt at eliminating pornography from my habitual behaviors (first attempt went 31 days), and I have noticed two developments, one positive, one not.

Sexual activity as solution to powerlessness?

Vitals: days since orgasm: 0; days since pornography: 26.

Men, more than women

I'm new here, and I'm almost overwhelmed by all the wonderful new perspectives and information to consider.

However, I feel as though there's an elephant in the room that's getting insufficient comment: men use and abuse pornography infinitely more than women. This has grave consequences for society, families, and relationships.

I cannot help but feel that men, by their biological make-up, are innately threatening to these very constructs, and that ubiquitous access to sexual imagery has merely revealed the true extent and inherent nature of the threat.
