Talking with outside people, there seems to be a common suspicion that long-term abstention from orgasms can cause problems with a man's sexual system, things like prostate cancer, erectile dysfunction, infertility, decreased sperm count, exploding prostates. Any long-term practitioners have personal anecdotes, any studies, counter-studies?
DHA is an important nutrient for me, I credit it with helping me out of a depression, eating it always chills me down, something my mother calls the "salmon calm", and it's a regular part of my diet. I usually get it through caviar.
Well, in the past two or three weeks, I've been out of caviar and haven't gotten to the market where I pick it up. I figured today it'd gone long enough, that I was getting deficient, so I went to the store and bought a jar of salmon caviar to pile over a plate of salmon sushi, an overdose of DHA to make up for the lost time.
I was walking through the city today, and I noticed my focus was centering on literally every woman's face as I was walking by. It was funny, it reminded me of the Head-up Display from fighter plane video games, target lock. Anyway, I'm lucky I can even spell "subtlety" at this point, so, when the women were attractive, I was pretty aggressive about holding eye contact.
I noticed looking at the calendar that it's passed the one month mark. Also, I thought about it, and this is the longest I've ever gone without an orgasm since puberty. I'm forcing myself to acknowledge all this just for the narrative of the post. In reality, I'm not counting the days anymore, to me, it's over. Done
I posted this on another site where people were having trouble with depression. Reading other peoples' posts, I figured I should tell it here too. It's the result of seven years of self-tinkering. Marnia, feel free to critique, constructive criticism is very welcome.
How I Cured My Depression, etc.
The backstory is that my psychological state crashed after high school, I ended up holed in my room trying to put myself back together again. I eventually did, someone in another thread asked me to explain, here goes:
Okay, something just happened, and I have no idea what it is.
I was watching a video of an attractive woman singing a sexy song, (this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTatE-L6XJM), I wasn't aroused or stimulated in any way except getting into the song and thinking the woman was attractive. So, no action in the guy-al areas, no discharge or anything, I'm just calling it "body orgasms" because I don't know what else to call it.
Reading through the site's research, it was said in one article that, after three weeks of abstinence, there was a measured increase in testosterone levels, and that seems that's what I've been experiencing lately. I've had some experience with testosterone surges in the past (from weightlifting and seasonal fluctuations), and, the last three or four days, I've recognized those symptoms.
