Some might find the ASCA Survivor to Thriver manual (http://www.ascasupport.org/manual.php) interesting. Page 9 explains how ASCA takes an approach different from the 12-step fellowships. I've been contemplating whether sexual or even other overstimulation could be classified as a form of self-abuse or perhaps a kind of subconscious action/programming related to coping.

Either way, the inner power aspects of the ASCA approach seem to make more sense to me than that angle of 12-step fellowships. I wonder whether some meetings having supportive feedback is a significant positive difference in the ASCA approach as well. Does anyone have enough experience with these many programs to comment? Do you know of other programs with interesting differences?
