I'm getting more clarity, but this is still irritating!

I posted a couple a weeks ago with some things about HOCD, now, since then I've learned a lot more, and have had up and down days, but now...
Now I'm suffering in a sorta different way...

Some days ago, I was taking a glance at a TV, and basically, this started then.
But now, every single guy, and I mean every single guy I look at, whether it be on TV, in real life, in a video game, etc, I'll think he's cute.
These thoughts give me countless headaches every day, they make it hard for me to concentrate on living life, and even when I try not to think about them, they simply won't go away even if I ignore them.
The moments of freedom I get from this constant mindfest (Which is really rare) I never have any feelings for guys at all, but this thoughts won't leave me alone, interuptting my life, I can't concentrate, and I just want to clean my mind so I can be free again!

That's just what HOCD does to your brain

and it usually gets more "insistent" before it begins to recede. It's kind of like withdrawal. Most people who quit porn go through a period of feeling more anxious and having various other withdrawal symptoms. With OCD, the increased anxiety leads to annoying obsessive thoughts for a while.

Some guys actually get meds for a bit to ease the wait while their brains are returning to balance. I just heard a talk that had mention of this and here's a slide I happened to take a screen shot of. I thought it was interesting that in some people the drugs don't help.

Did you read this? It takes some time to recover and there is no shortcut...unfortunately. http://yourbrainonporn.com/schwartz-technique-rewiring-ocd It really comes down to patience, brain training and gently turning your thoughts elsewhere after you acknowledge that the guys are cute (big deal - I bet you're cute too).

Are you staying away from internet porn and equivalents? Did you see this article? This HOCD is becoming more publicized:

Some psychologists think that gay acceptance has hindered recognition of homosexual obsessive compulsive disorder

*chuckle*

Well, wadya expect then? Mosking

Though many young guys don't realize it, porn is a supernormal stimulus. That is, it's an exaggerated version of sexual cues your limbic brain evolved to pay a lot of attention to. Too much stimulation has a weird reverse effect of desensitizing some brains, so that they need more and more stimulation. See Intoxicating Behaviors: 300 Vaginas = A Lot of Dopamine | Your Brain On Porn

No matter what porn you've escalated to, intenet porn's supernormal stimulation (constant novelty while edging) is where the downward spiral began...and will begin in the future. It's very hard to stop, but it's the only way to gain some stability.

Here's a really good article about this:

coming from a lesbian and how porn warped her mind and how she was now finding every single guy attractive. Don't worry stay cool and stay off the porn and your brain will start to change as a result and for the better.

Thank you, I hope so. Oh, and good luck to you!
