Hi I am new to this forum and have been a sex addict for probably most my life 20 plus years - I am now just finally coming to terms with it and realizing I am trulely a sexaholic. I am 16 days with no PMO and am experiencing strong withdrawl symptoms from; insomnia, depression, anxiety, weakness, fatigue, nightmares and the one that scares me the most is my body feels so shakey and I have tremors in my hands. The tremor in my hands freak me out. I have read other peoples blogs and i guess it is normal... Does anyone know how long these withdrawl symptoms will last ? Is it possible that you can deplete your dopamaine levels in your brain for ever and do premament damage or can your chemicals ie dopamine return to normal levels from rebooting ? Any info is helpful. I am so gratefull for finding this site. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear that

The things that seem to help most are vigorous exercise - even if you don't feel like it, time in nature, socializing (again, even if you don't feel like it), doing something creative like playing music, cold showers, and any of the things from this page: ♦Solo Tools

There are lots of good tips here too: Rebooting Advice & Observations

Personally, I think it helps to be on a really active recovery forum at first, so people who have been through it can talk you through it. Here are several:

Everyone's different, so it's hard to say when they'll pass. I should think you'll start having good days very soon because the first two weeks are usually the toughest.

Keep going. *big hug*
